    Grades 7–10 Faith Formation

    Growing Disciples Across the WHEAT Family of Parishes

    Our junior and senior high faith formation programs are designed to guide students through the critical years of adolescence with opportunities to grow in faith, build meaningful community, and deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ.

    We offer multiple options for students in Grades 7–10, including in-person small groups, weekly sessions, and online learning—allowing families to choose the model that best supports their needs and schedules.


    Faith Formation Models

    ‍‍ In-Person Small Discipleship Groups

    Offered at: Church of the Annunciation, Elma

    • When: Sundays, 9:30-10:45 am
    • Format: Small, mentor-led discipleship groups
    • Curriculum: Alive in Christ, FORMED, YDisciple, Chosen, and more
    • Includes:
      • Approximately three sessions per month
      • Discussion-based learning
      • Service projects & parish events
      • Youth ministry opportunities, Adoration, and Confession
    • Why It Works: Students form deeper friendships, engage in open discussion, and receive personalized faith mentorship.

    Weekly In-Person Classes

    Offered at: Immaculate Conception, East Aurora

    • When: Thursdays, 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM (Approximately three times/month)
    • Format: Traditional classroom sessions
    • Curriculum: Alive in Christ (Grades 7/8), Chosen (Grades 9/10)
    • Includes:
      • Interactive teaching & discussions
      • Ongoing formation and community building
      • Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation
    • Why It Works: Regular weekly meetings offer consistency, structure, and a strong sense of parish community.

    Online Faith Formation

    Available to all parishes in the WHEAT Family

    • Format: Flexible, at-home online learning
    • Curriculum: Alive in Christ (Grades 7/8), Chosen (Grades 9/10)
    • Includes:
      • 3-4 chapters per month with digital access
      • Quizzes and assignments to reinforce learning
      • Required participation in parish-based activities (e.g. Adoration, service, youth ministry events)
    • Why It Works: Great for families with busy or non-traditional schedules while still offering connection to parish life.
